‘The Borrowed Wife’ is Still GMA’s Highest-Rating Afternoon Drama

Edgy afternoon drama “The Borrowed Wife” is gaining more televiewers as its plot thickens. The highest-rating Afternoon Prime series is now down to its last three weeks.

GMA Network’s “The Borrowed Wife” aired an impressive pilot episode last January 21, 2014 which garnered a rating of 12.6% in Mega Manila and 11.5% in nationwide urban beating its rival programs.

Now on its 75th episode this afternoon (May 6) and down to its last three weeks, the soap starring Rafael Rosell, TJ Trinidad, Pauleen Luna and Camille Prats are actually gaining more viewers. Thanks to its edgy theme and how the story around the intertwined lives of its characters–Maricar (Camille), Rico (Rafael), Earl (TJ) and Tessa (Pauleen)–got its loyal followers hooked!

During the blogcon for three Afternoon Prime shows (Villa Quintana, Innamorata, and The Borrowed Wife) last Sunday, May 4, at the GMA Network Center Building, the cast of the adult-themed drama spent time with the bloggers. One of its lead stars, Rafael Rosell rendered a special number:

Rafael together with Camille, TJ and Pauleen also teamed-up with some bloggers for an acting contest re-enacting a memorable scene from the soap.

After “breaking the ice,” the stars of “The Borrowed Wife” spent time to chat with the bloggers and shared stuff like their favorite scenes from the series, their favorite lines, and what’s in store in the last 3 weeks of the show. Without disclosing any spoilers, they said the biggest twist is about to unfold in the said drama series as the secrets of its characters will be revealed. They are also happy with how their soap is performing so far when it comes to the TV ratings game. In fact, “The Borrowed Wife” has maintained its tag as the “highest-rating Afternoon Prime” show of GMA Network for a couple of months now!
